Great ideas and important findings can sometimes get lost in translation. A recent study found that research papers submitted by non-native English speakers get rejected two and a half times more, and requested to be revised twelve and a half times more, than those submitted by native English speakers. Edited papers are perceived by reviewers as higher quality, and are more likely to get published. As a native English speaker with a PhD in Political Science, I ensure that readers can easily access and engage with researchers' theories, methods, data, and findings.

I edit journal articles, dissertations, books, book chapters, reports, blog posts, presentations, and other materials. Research I have edited has been published by the International Journal of Public Administration, Political Communication, and the Journal of Medical Ethics, as well as Oxford University Press and the University of Wisconsin Press. I have also worked on research and grant applications for governments and NGOs, including the UK's Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office, USAID, UN Women, UNICEF, and NATO.

I am delighted to recommend Dani May’s language editing services. I received her feedback on an academic article, and it significantly improved it. You could tell that it had been in the competent hands of a person with a sharp mind and a PhD in political science. While getting help with grammar and spell-check is valuable, Dani can provide much more than this because she knows what it takes to write a good academic article. She provided insightful suggestions for improving formulations and re-arranging the text to provide a clearer and more comprehensive article. I look forward to relying on Dani’s services in the future.
